So-Sew
Hiking Bag

No sewing necessary! Make a terrific little bag to fill with a snack or found treasures.

You need:
(Click on underlined products to purchase them from our store.)

Instructions:

Cut a piece of cardboard 4" x 4"  and wrap it with wax paper. Slide it inside the pouch so the glue won't seep through. For this project, the drawstring on the pouch is only used to string the beads. The pouch will lay flat as shown as with the top folded down 1-1/2".

Cut a piece of braided cord to 36". Use fabric glue (other glues will not provide good results) to attach the ends under the flap near the fold. The glue will soak though to the back so make you have your cardboard and wax paper inside. Use the remaining cord decorate the outside, Encourage the children to make their own designs. If you decorate the flap, like we did, you will need to put at least wax paper inside. Let dry, remove cardboard.

String beads on the drawstring ends, tying on the last bead to hold it in place.
