Own Kerchiefs
The perfect project for a beginning seamstress or you can just get out the fabric glue!

You need:

  • 14" Square of fabric
  • 2 Yards of Doubled Seam Binding
  • Sewing Machine or Fabric Glue
  • Fabric Paint to Decorate
  • Pins
  • Girl Scout Pattern (optional)

Instructions:

Cut square of fabric in half on the diagonal. You will have two triangles. You can make a kerchief from each half. Cut the seam binding into three pieces -- one 36" and two 18" pieces.

Pin an 18" piece of seam binding to one of the shorter edges of the triangle making sure the fabric is between the folds of the binding. Sew in place. Trim. Repeat for the other short side of the triangle. Pin the center of the 36" length of binding to the center of the long side of the triangle. Continue pinning to the edges. Leaving remaining binding to extend beyond the ends of the triangle for tying. Stitch.

Option: Print Girl Scout Pattern and transfer onto the back of the kerchief. Paint with fabric paint.
