Macramé
Butterfly Pin
Quick and easy. Make them by the dozen for all your friends.

You Need:

Instructions:

Cut hemp into three 12" lengths. Fold one piece in half and tape the folded end to the table. Slide on a bead and push it to within 2" from the taped fold. Place the other two strands together and slide them under your taped strands near the bead. You will be working with them together throughout this project. Use the double strand to make a square knot up against the bead.  The diagram below shows how to make a square knot. Make another square knot about 1/2" from the first one. Push it up to meet the first knot which will make the top set of wings. Slide on two more beads. Make a final square knot about  1/2" from the last bead. Push it up to the last bead to form the bottom wings.

Put a dab of glue on the last knot. Let dry. Trim double strands close to knot. Trim the holding cords about 3/8" from the last knot. Remove tape. Cut holding cords at fold. Tie a knot in each one to make antenna. Trim close to knots.

Glue on pin.
