You need:
- 6½" Terra Cotta Flower Pot with Saucer
- 5-Ply (#72) Natural Jute Cord - 7-1/3 Yards
- Four 12mm or 16mm Round Wood Beads
- E-6000 or Goop Glue
Instructions:
Cut 1 filler cord 1-1/3 yards long. Cut 1
knotting cord 6 yards long.
Pin short filler cord to macramé board 12" from one
end. Fold knotting cord in half and slide center of cord underneath the filler cord (a).
Tie a square knot nest to the pin, using 2 knotting cords around the center filler cord
(b&c).
Continue to tie a sinnet of square knots that will fit
snuggly around the rim of the clay pot. The total length of the sinnet will vary depending
on the exact diameter of the clay pot (a 22" long sinnet was used on this pot).
Center the sinnet on the rim of the clay pot and glue in
place. Tie the 2 filler cords tightly together. Tie to top knotting cord to one of the
other cords so that all 4 cords are hanging DOWN from the sinnet.
Thread a bead onto each cord end at varying lengths, then
tie an overhand knot under each bead to hold it in place. Trim the knot and glue to
secure. If you are using polypropylene cord, fuse ends to prevent unraveling.
