Art Table from Recyclables
Recommended for adults to make for children.

You need:

  • Large sturdy cardboard box (computer box used here measured 12"x 19"x 22")
  • Shipping Tape
  • Misc. Empty Containers (ex: 3 playdough, 1 margarine, and 1 cereal box are shown here)
  • Mat Knife
  • Glue Gun
  • Paint (Optional)

Instructions:

Tape box closed. Use a matte knife to cut away areas shown below. Opening in front should be at least 8" high so a toddler or preschooler can fit his or her legs comfortably underneath.

Make cutting lines for pencil holders by tracing around your containers and cutting inside the line for a snug fit. Containers with a lip work the best.

For your paper holder, tape box top closed. Cut off a side. Trace and cut out an area for the cereal box. Leave a flap on each side to glue to the cereal box. Paint if desired.
