"What can I do with my calendar after the the new year?
It's too pretty to throw away."


Seems like everyone is reusing their calendars! Many of you wrote to say that you frame the pictures of your favorite calendars or made envelopes out of them. We added to this idea by making matching writing paper so you have a complete set of themed stationery. Here's more ideas from our reader's:

Puzzles
"Glue a favorite calendar picture to cardboard and cut apart with an matte knife or sharp scissor to make a puzzles."

"Start now for next year and jot down events and accomplishments as they happen. Cut out small sections of photos and glue over blank squares. Scan a reduce children's drawings. Save calendars year after year as keepsakes as your children grow."

"Use scenic calendars to make faux windows for cards or doll houses. Paste pretty scenes under a cardboard 'window frame'. Make miniature curtains from fabric scraps."

"Cut small areas with decorative scissors. Mount on nice card stock cut into an interesting shape. Punch a hole and add some decorative raffia or curling ribbon."

"Roll into paper cones, punch a hole on each side, tie in ribbon handle. Stuff in some tissue and fill with candy, small toys etc for a party favor or fill with potpourri for an adult gift."

Lacing Cards
"Mount the picture on cardboard. Cut it into a shape and laminate. Punch holes all around. Tie on a shoe lace and let your children weave in and out of the holes."
Cut out the picture in a shape heart, circle etc. punch holes around picture have it lamainted then get a long shoe string and have a child weave the shoe string in and out of the holes."
