Russia Pony Bead Flag Pin

Make these pins for thinking day. Easy enough for kids ages 7 and up.

You need:

• 6 Safety Pins, Size 4
• 1 Safety Pin, Coiless 2-1/4″
• Blue, White and Red Pony Beads
• RUSSIA Letter Beads
• Fine Point Marker
• SWAP* Tags (not shown) (optional)

Instructions:

Each column is a size 4 pin with six pony beads strung on it. Open pins and string each one with two red, two blue and two white pony beads. You will have 6 beaded pins. Close the pins.

Open up a coiless pin. You’ll need to open the pin out to a wide angle to get the beads around the loop. Beginning with the beaded pin on the far right, thread base loop of the beaded pin onto the coiless pin, push around loop to the other side of the pin. String on a “R” letter bead, then the 2nd pin from the right followed by an “U” letter bead. Continue until you have threaded on 6 pins and 6 letter beads, following pattern above from right to left.

If you are using optional SWAP* tags, write your message on the tag and slide onto the pin. Close pin.
