Japan Flag PinJapan Flag Pin for Fundraising
We've put together this kit to make fundraising easy. You can now make Japanese flag pins for $.42 each and hand them out for donations of $1, $2 or $3 dollars.

Larger sized "E" beads and coiless pins make this project easier for kids. Ages 9 and up.

You need:

-or-

Instructions:

Each row hanging down is a size 2 pin with "E" beads strung on it. Open these pins and string beads following the pattern above. Keep in mind that you are stringing the beads upside-down so you will start at the top with of each row and work down. Then turn the pin upside-down. "E" are irregular in size so you may not be able to use the largest beads in the pack. As long as the very tip of the pin is showing you will be able to close the pin. Use pliers to squeeze the pin head closed permanently.

Open up the coiless pin. You will need to bend it open to at least a 60 degree angle to get the beads on. String on a round metallic bead, then the first beaded pin, then another round metallic bead, then the next beaded pin. Continue beading in this manner using the pattern above as a guide. When stringing, you will need to slide the beads and pins around the coil the the other side of the pin.
