Blue and Gold
Safety Pin Centerpieces
If your boys are past the
"baby" crafts, here's a project they will have fun making
and be proud to show off.You
need:
Instructions:
Cut two 12"
pieces and one 18" piece of gold cord. Stiffen ends with tacky
glue. Let dry. Open up safety pins. String on two translucent blue
pony beads, one 8mm clear faceted bead and two more translucent blue
pony beads. Close safety pins. String a beaded pin on one piece of
your gold cord through the loop on the tail of the pin. String on a
gold bead, another safety pin, a gold bead, etc until you have 20 pins
strung. Loop around and tie ends together snugly with a double know.
String a gold cord through the head of one of
the strung pins, string on a gold cord and new beaded safety pin. Then
string through the next strung pin, a gold bead etc. until the row is
complete.
The bottom row of pins is finished by stringing
the 18" piece of cord through the heads adding three or four gold
beads adjusting as you go to get the row to lay flat. Tie ends tightly
together when complete. Add a dab of glue on each knot. Let dry. Trim.
Place over a tea light candle or wrap a glow stick necklace inside.
