Make our foam "Friends" to decorate your parade banner.

You need:

Instructions:

To make a pocket for the dowel, fold 3" from the top of the felt. Press in place. Run a bead of glue along the edge of flap. Let dry. (Fusible hem tape will work very good also.)

Fuse adhesive to the back of your fabric or felt. Cut into 8-1/2" x 11 pieces to fit into your inkjet printer. Use your computer to set up files with your banner lettering. Make the letter outlines without a fill and flip them backwards. We used 4" letters for the top line and 6" letters for the numbers. Run the 8-1/2" x 11" pieces of fabric through your ink jet printer to transfer the letters to the back on the fusible adhesive backing. Cut out letters. Peel backing and fuse to banner according to manufacturer's instructions.

Make a Foam Friend for each member of your troop or group. Spray the back of the Foam Friends with spray adhesive. Position them on the banner. (Foam Friends can be easily removed for storage or if you need to make changes from year to year.)

Make up a pin with alphabet beads for each member of your group. You can fit up to 7 letters on the 2-1/4"coiless pins. Pin them under each friend.

Decorate with trefoils cut from foam. Glue lace along the bottom edge of the banner.
